Condensing Boilers
All new Boilers fitted, whether they are combination, system or regular types running on gas, oil or LPG, condense Boilers. (electric Boilers don’t produce condensate so are exempt)
Condensing Boilers make use of excess gasses produced by the combustion process. As excess gasses escape from the flue, they are captured and used to heat water.
Highly efficient as less fuel’s consumed to serve your home, and you’ll likely notice a saving on your heating bills after a new condensing Boiler installation.
Boiler Energy Types
Boilers fall into four energy types, Gas, Electric, Oil and LPG. We install them all.
Gas
Gas Boilers are very common. Gas is an efficient fuel that’s around three times cheaper than electricity.
Electricity
An electric Boiler is a possibility if you’re not on the gas grid. Electric Boilers are safer than gas boilers as there’s no chance of carbon monoxide poisoning (please note modern Gas Boilers are extremely safe and rarely a carbon monoxide risk)
Oil
Oil is another option for those off the gas grid, a cheap and reliable fuel. You must, however, keep your oil tank filled up, which may be required a few times a year depending on the size of your tank (the largest of tanks may only need one fill-up per year)
LPG
LPG is another option for remote off-gas grid homes. LPG is a cleaner fuel than oil and offers better energy efficiency. However, as with oil, a tank and fuel deliveries are required.
Boiler Types
All Boilers fall into one of three types Combination, System, or Regular.
Combination Boilers
The most popular Boiler, the ‘combi’, has everything built into the Boiler and has no water tanks, cylinders, or external pumps. Instead, everything is built into the Boiler.
A simple and efficient system that saves space, best for small to medium-sized homes.
System Boilers
System Boilers have most components built inside and include a sealed, pressurised hot water storage cylinder that can still heat water even if the Boiler breaks down.
The system Boiler’s ideal for supplying multiple bathrooms and offers superior tap and shower pressure to combination and regular Boilers.
System Boilers are best fitted in medium to larger sized homes.
Regular Boilers
Regular Boilers are the traditional style that works on gravity using water tanks, pumps and an unpressurised cylinder.
Regular Boilers are best fitted in homes with an existing regular central heating system or extra-large homes with lots of bathrooms.
Regular Boiler central heating is complex and has largely made way for simpler combination and system Boilers. They are, however, the best Boiler at serving hot water in the largest of properties.
Boiler Size
All Boilers are available in different sizes, usually three options for small, medium and large homes.
The size is mainly determined by the number of radiators on your property. The correct size Boiler must be fitted in your home.
The right sized Boiler will be big enough to provide enough power for your radiators and hot water but not too big that energy is wasted.
